CreativeLabTH Group’s CEO Appointed as Project Manager of CD.Lab at Harbour.Space @UTCC
A New Era for Creative Dev.Lab and Cross-Disciplinary Innovation
Big news from the CreativeLabTH Group! We’re excited to announce that our CEO has just been appointed as Project Manager of Creative Dev.Lab (CD.Lab) at Harbour.Space Institute of Technology @UTCC. This move marks a fresh chapter in our mission to bridge art, science, and technology—making education hands-on, collaborative, and as real-world as it gets.
What is Creative Dev.Lab (CD.Lab)?
At its core, CD.Lab is designed to be a “state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary laboratory”—but that only tells half the story. This lab is more than a space with fancy gear. It’s a playground and an incubator where students, researchers, and creatives are encouraged to break the rules (the right way) and collaborate across fields.
The lab is co-created by Harbour.Space @UTCC and CreativeLabTH Group, blending expertise from both institutions. Our mission? To empower students and young innovators to turn wild ideas into working prototypes—mixing science, art, and engineering in ways that are bold, unexpected, and relevant to the world outside the classroom.
Why This Appointment Matters
With our CEO stepping into the Project Manager role, CD.Lab is set for a big leap forward. Here’s what’s changing:
Leadership with Vision: CreativeLabTH’s CEO brings experience leading projects that cross the borders of art and science, making sure the lab doesn’t just chase the latest trends but sets them.
Mentorship by Practitioners: Students will learn directly from people building things—whether it’s interactive installations, AI-driven art, or social impact technology.
Real Collaboration: The days of working alone in silos are over. Expect open brainstorming sessions, hackathons, and build cycles that bring together everyone from coders to designers to cultural researchers.
Our Motto: “Say No to Permission, Say Yes to Collaboration”
This isn’t just a catchphrase. It’s a way of working. At CD.Lab, we want to remove barriers—so anyone with an idea and the drive to build can join in, test, and share their work. No need to wait for permission. If you see a problem, pitch your solution. If you want to build something new, gather a team and start experimenting.
Explore Our Focus Clusters
To give structure without stifling creativity, CD.Lab is organized around several “clusters”—think of them as cross-disciplinary teams or theme areas:
Stupid Science Interfaces: Turning the “unexplainable” into the understandable by fusing real science experiments with artistic expression. Imagine physics meets installation art.
Digital Soul Interfaces: Creating digital twins—virtual versions of real or imagined characters—that can help people grow and reflect on their own lives.
SciFact to SciFi Interfaces: Letting imagination fuel science, and vice versa. This is where we help teens and young adults make sense of cutting-edge science through creative fiction and speculative design.
Futuristic Culture Interfaces: Pulling apart traditions to see what the future could look like, then making it real using tech and performance.
Cognitive Programming Interfaces: Blurring the line between programming humans and humans programming systems. It’s about making learning interactive—and letting people “hack” their own minds.
Data Oracle Interfaces: Using data to imagine and build better digital societies, with a focus on collective intelligence and ethical design.
Political Unfold Interfaces: Tech isn’t neutral. This cluster uses technology and art to help communities think deeply about political issues, aiming for more open, inclusive, and future-ready societies.
What Students and Collaborators Can Expect
1. Real-World Learning:
Forget textbook-only education. Students will tackle real problems, building things that get tested, exhibited, and sometimes even go viral.
2. Mentorship and Support:
You’re never working alone mentors from CreativeLabTH, Harbour.Space, and partner organizations are always on hand to guide and push you further.
3. Ownership and Leadership:
Build your portfolio, lead a cluster, or start your own project. As you grow, so does your responsibility and influence.
4. Public Showcases:
Projects don’t just stay in the lab. We’re talking exhibitions, demo days, online launches, and sometimes even national or international competitions.
What’s Next for CD.Lab
With a new Project Manager in charge, we’re launching a series of new initiatives:
Sprint Cycles: Short, intense build periods focused on solving a problem or creating a demo-able prototype.
Open Calls: Regular opportunities for students and outside collaborators to propose ideas, join teams, and co-create.
Expanded Partnerships: We’re bringing in new partners from academia, industry, and the creative sector for workshops, lectures, and co-development.
Community Impact: Projects will increasingly focus on topics with real impact—health, education, environment, culture, and more.
